Chapter one: Excitement. Maybe alarming.  Some fainting involved.

Hi there! I am Emily. Get any sparks? Glamorous, star stuffed animal? Okay, okay, fine. I am Emily the stuffed elephant. Now, it is a big responsibility to care for your human. First, you need to make sure they aren't scared at night. You need to accompany them as they walk down the dark hallway to get a glass of water. Or suppose there is a storm, and you have to get squished as your kid hugs you. You have to listen to their screams and cries and hide with them under the covers. Hardest of all, you have to go with them on airplane trips. You must go through the security luggage belt. And there are those long lines, where there is always the possibility of getting lost and having to get bullied by other toys, who were in the Lost and Found longer than you. Or possibly being too big for the checking guy and having to go with your kid's suitcase and meeting the other too-big stuffed animals. "Emily, you were talking to yourself again," Willow said sarcastically. "Oops." Before I could say any more,  we heard a whistle blow. "Time out, boys." we heard Chloe say. "What's up?" I asked.  "George and Winston, fighting over whom the human will pick to go on the trip. Chloe's referee, Cindy, and I were the so-called 'fans'. Nala couldn't be there because George was her brother." Penny said. "Oh,"  I said. I was looking over to the door, where the human would normally come in. "She's coming!" I said, and everyone scrambled over to the toy box, jumped inside, and waited. Nala and I jumped onto the bed because the human had last left us there. Everyone listened to me at that time because I have the biggest ears, and can hear stuff that's going on downstairs. We went onto Still Mode so that the human wouldn't be suspicious. Just then, she came in with her mother and took out her suitcase from the closet. They were going to pack! She took three T-shirts out of her top drawer and folded a couple of skirts. She put her pink sparkly sweater into the suitcase too. Then her mother told her something we didn't understand. We watched as the girl shoved some jeans in, frowning. She probably didn't want to put her jeans in. I knew how she felt. You just don't want to wear those tight things. What's the problem with dresses and skirts anyway? They're simply beautiful, light, and perfect. Then, she walked over to the toy box. She took Willow and Winston out and took a good look at them. She shook her head "Too new and too white." and threw them onto her window-seat. I  shuddered. Poor Willow and Winston. Then, she took out Zylie. I crossed my fingers. She usually took Zylie on such trips. Let's hope Zylie accompanies her on this trip too. Onto the window seat, she went. She took out Penny and hugged her.  Before you knew it, Penny was at the top of the stuffed animal pile. Then, she took a long look at the others who were left in the toybox. She shook her head. Then, she headed over to the window seat. She took an armload of toys and put them back into the toy box. Then she came near Nala and me. She held Nala up, just like in the movie 'Lion King.' It was so adorable! Lucky for her, she ended up right back on to the bed. Then, she looked at my button eyes and said my least favorite things in the world!  "You are going to come to Florida!" the human squealed. Then, she and her mother went back downstairs. The second we heard the thundering of stairs, we came out of still mode and before I could even groan, there was a stampede of cheering stuffed animals. I waved my hands triumphantly, though inside, my heart sank. Why did the human have to choose me? Me, out of all my other friends? Chloe replied as if she were reading my mind. "You were the only one who hasn't gone on an airplane trip." she pointed out. I had to agree with her. But there was one thing I didn't understand until now. How did Chloe know? How could she give such a detailed response? I couldn't help but say it out loud. "You were talking to yourself" Willow and Chloe chorused, bursting into giggles. I couldn't help but laugh too. Note to self: Break the habit of thinking out loud!
